Department of Neurosurgery
The Department of Neurosurgery is unwavering in its commitment to delivering exceptional neurosurgical care to the residents of the Mardan and Malakand divisions and those from neighbouring districts. Upholding a steadfast sense of accountability to our patients, colleagues, and ourselves, we strive to provide comprehensive services within the available resources.
Our Expertise
As a specialised medical and surgical discipline, we care for adult and pediatric neurological patients, addressing conditions affecting the nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord, and bony coverings. Our expertise also extends to the peripheral nervous system, encompassing cranial, spinal, and peripheral nerve and vascular supply, including intracranial, extracranial, and spinal vasculature.
Facilities
We prioritise facilities to ensure the health and well-being of our patients. Our department offers both elective and emergency services around the clock. We handle all brain, spine, and peripheral nerve-related cases, utilising endoscopic/microscopic procedures alongside traditional open surgery.
Academics and Research
Our department engages in teaching activities for undergraduate and postgraduate students and is recognised by the CPSP for training post-graduate neurosurgical residents. Research activities are fundamental to our academics, contributing to international publications. Additionally, we host seminars, symposiums, and workshops to foster knowledge-sharing and professional development.
Future Vision
We confidently believe in continuously upgrading knowledge, technology, and national/international collaboration to enhance the repertoire of our health delivery services to the ailing community. We are confident in our vision to make our department exemplary for neurological services to the community and all other stakeholders.
